Dreaming Up and Trauma

October 16 @ 5:00 pm - October 23 @ 10:30 pm

DREAMING UP AND TRAUMA

THE WAY OF LOVE

WEBINAR by Bogna SZYMKIEWICZ

Each of us is on one hand a separate individual and on the other a part of a bigger field – a couple,  a group,  a society. While we are trying to find our place in the world, the field is looking for the ways to express its hidden messages. So sometimes we become a channel for the disavowed experiences that need to be manifested in a given group or relationship – as if the field was using us as a figure in its own dreaming. We call this phenomena “dreaming up”.

As Joe Goodbread puts it: “Dreaming up occurs whenever dreams or dreaming process affect interpersonal relationships. Therefore it includes not only countertransference, but any relationship in which dreaming plays its role. (…) Dreaming up may be viewed from a spiritual perspective as the glue that holds the holographic Universe together”

Topics covered

Topics covered

In this workshop we will:

  • Deepen our understanding of the dreaming-up phenomena
  • Learn about its mechanisms and conditions in which it occurs
  • Analyze it in the context of related psychological concepts (projection, transference, countertransference)
  • Learn about the role that facilitator’s edges, client edges, double signals and shared edges play in dreaming up
  • Learn to notice and invite “ghost roles” and disavowed dream-figures in the therapeutic setting
  • Deepen the awareness of our own edges and secondary experiences while we are in the facilitator role
  • Practice interventions based on dreaming up.
