UNFOLDING THE EXPERIENCE OF THE BODY
Developing skills on Proprioceptive channel PRACTICE AND SUPERVISION CLASS
In Western culture we are trained to approach our own bodies from outside – we check how they look, measure physiological features, and develop our muscles. But, there is a lot of wisdom hidden in our bodies. Arnold Mindell developed Process Work by extending Jungian dreamwork to the realm of the body. The Dreambody is an amazing vessel of our experience – and body sensations, called proprioception, are its basic language.
What will we do during the training?
In this seminar we will learn how to communicate with our own bodies in its own language.
We will:
- Learn to observe our own bodies from inside out.
- Develop special attention that enables you to catch the smallest tendencies that appear in the body.
- Learn techniques of observing and working with body signals of other people.
- Practice methods of amplification that enable you to find the message behind the body signals.
Learn basic ideas of Deep Body Work.
Who is it recommended for?
This seminar is recommended for Process Work students.
Bogna Szymkiewicz
Bogna Szymkiewicz, Ph.D. has been teaching for over 30 years at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences, University of Warsaw. She holds diploma in Process Work from Zurich, and a degree in clinical psychology. She works with clients in private practice, facilitates groups and teaches Process Work internationally. She is a co-founder of Process Work School in Poland, where she teaches and gives supervision regularly.

As a researcher and author of articles and books, she participates in many conferences. Her publications include: “Wounded States of Consciousness. About Pain, Anger and Unconscious use of Power in Relationships” (in Polish, English version soon), “Deeper into the Soul. beyond Dementia and Alzheimer’s towards Forgetfulness Care” (co-writer); “Process Work: Theory and Practice” (editor of the anthology, in Polish) , and many articles. Bogna has 23-years old twin daughters and a funny dog Pepi. She lives in Warsaw, Poland.
